General comments: We had the place to ourselves, it was great. Fishing was a dream and could have been even better - missed four! It would have been an advantage to have access to the other side of the lake when carp moved swims.

General comments: This is a lovely venue, the people are really nice, they are very friendly and helpful. The daughter made sure we were all ok and Alice tried her best with us even though she doesn't speak much english.

Brief details of your catches: This is my own catch list for the week, my friend did catch well but has only started fishing & lacks experience. Largest fish 24lb common, 3 x 20lb+, 15 doubles (upper), 2 x single. Total weight 320lb.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Single hook baits almost anywhere as long as it went splash.

General comments: Lovely place to go, all facilities great, owner there if you need them but also leave you to do your own thing. Swimming pool a bonus when it gets hot (the weather that is).

Brief details of your catches: Dave 19 carp to 27.10lb, John 15 carp to 26lb (pb), James(15) 15 carp to 22lb (pb). I also had 5 tench to 6lb.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Boilies over spod mix and maize/fake corn on method feeder. Most fish caught in the day. Myself and James fished 3 nigths but only 5 fish caught at night. The 3 of us fished spread out along the dam wall fishing near margin, to features and open water. Keep the bait topped up and the fish will find it. Weather was very hot with water temps of 26c which slowed sport down. Crayfish were a problem on fishmeal boilies at top end of lake by the lodge. even netting baits only worked for so long be fore they chewed their way through.

General comments: The photos on the web site really do not do the gite justice. This place really is lovely. Even though the fishing was slow at times and the fish weren't the biggest it didn't matter. The Bouchot family were fantastic and the highlight of the holiday for my kids was the ride they had in the combine harvester. They also enjoyed the wild boar being let into the field at the bottom of the garden for the last couple of days. In short this holiday was so much more than just a fishing holiday. Will definately come again.

Brief details of your catches: 15 carp, mainly commons. 9x20+ largest 26lb8oz, 5x upper doubles, 1 single but should have had far more as I missed 24 runs due to my inexperience of carp fishing.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Method feeder with maize or tiger nuts on the hair.I didn't have a single fish on boilies.

General comments: Weather great, perhaps a bit too warm, accomodation superb, hosts lovely and have already booked for 2009.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Swivel leads, leadcore leadres fishmeal boilies, and pva bags of chopped boilies and pellets.

Were the facilities what you expected? Better, the chalet/gite was excellent

Were you happy with them? The lake however could do with some bankside improvement., Tree thinning and landscaping. as well as removing the concrete snags.

Brief details of your catches: 26 carp (464lb) in total: 8 x 20s, 10 x 17lbs+, and 8 x mid doubles. Best fish: 27lb 2oz, 26lb 4oz, 25lb 1oz, 24lb, 23lb 10oz, 21lb 8oz, 21lb 4oz & 20lb 2oz.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Destiny Baits (Mlarky) boilies over tight beds of mixed pellet. Size 6 korda wide gape hooks, double 14mm boilies.

General comments: Report from my boyfriend: Fished on and off most days with only one night. We were lucky enough to have the whole lake to ourselves, so I experimented the first few days and I caught from most areas of the lake. However, the most productive swim was fishing from the sluice on the dam and fishing to the far margin (off willow near white gate), centre of the lake (caught the biggest fish from here) and dam wall (a rod length out, but 'chody'). Tried particles with some success but boilies were best. Also, had 5 fish off the surface stalking along the far margin, and off the willow by the lodge. So remember some dog biscuits! We stayed in the gite which was perfect, and we thoroughly recommend the gite, lake, pool and whole experience to anyone who enjoys relaxing surroundings and great fishing. The Bouchot family were friendly and helpful, and left us in piece to enjoy a great holiday! Note: The freezer has space for ~ 8kgs of boilies

General comments: First time fishing in France, and 5 of us inexperienced in carp fishing, but had a brilliant time. The cottage is 1st class for a group of fishermen or family for a holiday.. The family who run Vincons are very helpful, but leave you alone to fish. A BIG thank you to them

Brief details of your catches: Around 180 fish caught. Total weight; approx 3,250lbs!!! Wayne: 81 fish (1,500lb) - and week's smallest at 7lb(!). Steve: 38 fish (760lb) - and week's biggest at 31lb 14oz. Darren: approx 25 fish (approx 400lb). Drew: approx 20 fish (approx 350lb). Chris: approx 15 fish (approx 250lb)

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: All baits worked. Sensible rigs tailored to the bottom and conditions. Working hard following the fish. Be prepared to feed them when they're hungry. We went through many many kilos of bait in total.

General comments: Bouchot family were fantastic (again). Lodge perfect for 6 lads (one non-angler). The lodge did have a drainage issue from the sink. This needs to be looked at. Other than that, perfect.

Brief details of your catches: Conditions proved difficult for us, with 30 degree heat on arrival, which switched the fish onto spawning until middle of the week, despite this we still managed over twenty fish, with the vast majority good twenties. The best fish of the session went 28.08lb.These fish really give a good account of themselves and fight like nothing I have experienced before.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: We took a good supply of Quest Baits, including 20kg of garlic feast particle mix, shelf life Rhaja and Liver B8 boilies in 10,15 and 20mm and also several kilos of maximum action pellets. The fish here are pretty hungry and responded well to baiting up. We caught on both bottom baits and pop ups, with nothing complicated in terms of rigs.

Were the facilities what you expected? The gite is superb, spotlessly clean and typically French

Would you recommend the venue to a friend? I would say this venue would be perfect for a family or two fishing couples

General comments: Vincons is a rural delight, set in the middle of fields with only the odd passing car down the track in the distance. The gite accommodation is superb, the fishing can be fast and furious when the fish get their heads down. With the average weight being around mid twenties, its a great venue for really bagging up, in lovely surroundings, with a great gite to retire to of an evening for a nice meal and a couple of bottles of wine...
