Brief details of your catches: we both tried maggots this time for some daytime action,unfortunatley thats all we got.small stuff but all in miniture mint condition.one grassy of 6lb.we were there in june but the fish were spawing.no luck eh.in june margot was full to the max but in october it was down by 18 inches you would think it would be easyer to locate the fish.better luck next year.

General comments: I wanted to share the picture of my P.P a lovely 48.4 mirror, and the photos of my other catches. Just to let you know i caught the biggest fish all week and some of my dad's friends were not very happy, but for me it was the best fishing holiday ever.

General comments: This is a lovely venue, the owner is a great guy, he came down to meet us and to make sure that we were all ok. Then he left us alone to enjoy our holiday. He wasn't in your face all the time. Can't wait for return trip

Brief details of your catches: shit hot what can i say, biggest grassy at 44lb!!!!!! Checked pics and its beeb on the f plan. biggest koi (the orange jurassic one) 36lb.2 (yeah yeah just short I know) and and and wait for it a...............52lb common!!!! and what a common, the lad was 15 (finely tutored obviously) and he played it like a true pro (couldn't lift it, granted. and will regret not havin his weetabix for years) but, goooooooooooooood lad.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: get yourselves out in the boats and use a pole to find those hard patches and it'll go off, not a lot of em but when u find em (and you will if u work at em) you will get payed out!!!!!!!!!!! this is not a lazy mans lake, don't settle for the normal soft silt or clay that makes up most of the lake, from what I saw EVERY swim has a hard hotspot and u just gotta search it.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: get out in the boat and use a pole to find either hard clay or gravel,bottom is pretty uniform with some heavy silt and soft clay but the spots are there!!!!! from peg 6 fish 100 yrds out towards exit,the spot on the lake!!!!!!!!!!!! from 8 fish 12 yrds out towards the hut, from hut pegs fish to the island or the overhanging tree on the corner.show them lots of parti blend and theyl show you a good time haha,bware if you dont look for those hards spots your robbing yourself of some fantastic fishing so get on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brief details of your catches: We have just returned from our holiday to Margot last week and have to say that the whole group thought the lake and fishing was superb. We caught some excellent fish including Carp to over 40lb as well as catfish to 39lb including a stunning albino cat at 39lb 2oz. This is a venue that we all really enjoyed and will be looking to return, probably in 2010 as we alternate between one other venue. will now have to add Margot to one of my favorite venues.

General comments: The Boats, we only had 1 that was working properly, Mr Bigot did come and fix another one but this had a hole in the bottom so needed constant emptying!!! The Lodge Side Swims were quite dangerous as the stones they have used look like flint rocks from a quarry, I have actually sliced my big toe in 2 places when jumping out of my bivvy for a run at 2 in the morning, not bare foot I would like to add although I was only wearing flip flops!!! Also, swim 3 I think it was, directly in front of the lodge collapsed, we had a real downpour on Friday and one of the group got out of his bivvy to find his rod pod had fallen through the swim, luckly the structure of the pod stopped it from falling in the lake. Then, I was landing a fish for him and the whole bank collapsed between the swim front build and the stones with a hole about 3 feet long appearing. these are only minor points and did nothing to spoil this fantastic venue and we will be looking to return, I just thought you should know.

Brief details of your catches: Around 25-30 fish in total. Biggest 34.0. Had just put my rods out and was setting up the bivvy, when i got a run, rods had been in for just 10 minutes, landed a 29.0 grass carp. Off to a great start.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: All fish were caught in the day, most in the early morning. Fished with Tiger nut based baits. No bright coloured baits seemed to get any interest

Everything went really smoothly and easily. No problems at all. Am looking through the brochure to find a venue for next year

General comments: Only thing i would have changed would be the ferry crossing i took. I went Dover/Calais would go Portsmouth/Caen to cut down driving time in future. Not many places open when we arrived, but went to the local shops and found our way around. The weather was unbelievably hot. This is a great venue, the owner is very nice. Really enjoyed this holiday

Brief details of your catches: Weather was very hot for most of the week so tough fishing conditions but managed 5 carp: two 30's including the stunning big golden koi at 36-2 and a 30-9. Also had two 20's and a 19. All takes came at night and in the early morning. Lost 3 others, two were small but lost a big fish due to hooklink material failure. Not happy about that at all!

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Baiting heavily (half a big bucket spread over an area of about half a tennis court in size) with Quest Baits Garlic Feast with added hemp and tigers onto harder clay areas in open water. Time spent prodding about from a boat with a landing net pole was well worth it. Hookbaits were tigers and Quest Baits Pineapple Crush pop ups. I had some problems with poisson chats but only some of the time.

Were the facilities what you expected? Much better.

Were you happy with them? Completely. Lodge was fabulous - clean kitchen with microwave and oven, two fridges and a chest freezer. Showers were hot and powerful - lovely!

Would you recommend the venue to a friend? Without hesitation.

Would you recommend our services to a friend? Completely. Angling Lines are the best!

General comments: Weather was tough for fishing so had to work hard to catch despite the hot conditions. Well worth it for that gorgeous Koi alone. Laurent was a great host. He came round a few times to make sure we were OK and was a pleasure to chat to. My girlfriend came with me for the first time and loved it. She's happy camping anyway but the facilities were just superb. She now can't wait for the next trip. Some minor issues: The lake is nearer 20 acres not 12 as advertised. Many of the swims are built on hard gravel with large stones. Hard to get tent pegs in without a mallet and not that great for bivvy groundsheets. Luckily I was warned by a mate who'd been before to bring rod pods and a mallet. Perhaps Angling Lines could advise people of this in advance? Bark chippings on softer ground would be much better. None of this would deter me from going again or recommending the lake to others, top venue. Thanks to all at Angling Lines for organising the trip.

General comments: I had a fantastic weeks fishing, couldn't believe it when i caught first cast!! Mr Bigot was a great help after coming to collect us after we got lost at the shop. Will definitley be back. I'd also like to mention a new bait boat on the market which i took with me and this was the first time i had used one. General comments: the fishing was very slow due to spawning runs early hours,some fish deaths ,i my self weighed one of 44lb very sad but i must say that in my opinon this was due to stress or being spawnbound.the weather in france as the uk has been shit.this was explained to us by mr.bigot who must see this year in year out,he put our minds at rest and i have no reason to believe otherwise of his honest explaination.(we cant allways go to france an have a ding dong time,thats fishing)p.s many thanks to angling lines and mr.bigot.

General comments: there is a 50euro deposit not advisable to pay unless you check your swims and facillities first. Toilet blocked from day 4 still blocked when leaving no effort made to sort. Seen bailiff when we arrived and then waited 2hours to return deposit when waiting to go.
